I have questions about this also.  My late ex purchased a new mainsail for
Serenity when we bought her and brought her down from Ventura.  I didn't have
much to do with maintenance and equipment issues then.  I remember, he finally
decided to purchase a slightly lighter weight mainsail than Serenity came
equipped with for reasons I don't remember now except that we were docked in a
light wind area as opposed to the previous owner's heavy wind area around
Ventura and points North

Now Starwind will need a new mainsail soon.  Any advice?  I am still in the
light wind area of Newport. I don't really race, not competitively anyway.  I
did win "Last to Finish" in the 1987 Newport to Ensenada race.

Hi Everyone,
New here, recently bought a 1978 Cat 27 and need a new mainsail. I tried to
"recover it" with SailCare but the price is to close to a new one from what I
have seen.

Any suggestions on buying a new sail? I am fairly new to sailing, had a Cat 22
before but never had to get a new sail. I don't race, not interested for now,
my wife and I cruise in the Long Island Sound, so I am looking for a main that
suits my sailing needs and my wallet (yes, price do matter, I've seen prices
from $1200 to $620<---Ebay, Kelly-Hanson)

Any advice will be very much appreciated.
Thank you!
-Abraham
