David,

I can lift the mast at it's center point without too much difficulty. I estimate it's about 75 pounds or so. Considering the unusual shape, though, the shipper might charge based on how much space it takes up rather than just the weight.

I have a 1971 Catalina 27 (hull #65). I am cruising from New Rochelle, New York to The North Channel of Georgian Bay for the summer, returning in October to New Rochelle. I was going to strike the mast and lay it on deck, but am thinking of shipping it from New Rochelle to Buffalo, New York to elevate deck clutter. Does anyone know approximately how much the mast weights. I have its length, but weight is a mystery.
