Ask around local clubs, there may be someone who offers a mast
shipping service. I know that eery fall there is a yard up on the Bay
of Quinte (Lake Ontario) that organizes a shipment of masts from their
yard down to the south end of the Erie Canal.

My guess is that shipping a mast anywhere is going to be
prohibitively expensive.

David,
I can lift the mast at it's center point without too much
difficulty. I estimate it's about 75 pounds or so. Considering the
unusual shape, though, the shipper might charge based on how much
space it takes up rather than just the weight.

I have a 1971 Catalina 27 (hull #65). I am cruising from New

I was going to strike the mast and lay it on deck, but am thinking
of shipping it from New Rochelle to Buffalo, New York to elevate
deck clutter. Does anyone know approximately how much the mast
weights. I have its length, but weight is a mystery.
