Hello Todd I have an 1982 and just went through this. My pump Actually worked but when I squeezed into the aft locker (no outboard) I broke the hose output connection. I bought the whale pump from the Catalina direct site. Same price as elsewhere. The uniT fit but I had to drill new holes because it didn't match up. If I could have turned it on it's side then the holes match. It also came with the door flap but I was able to mount the door upside down so the latch is at the top and much easier to open and it stays open until your done with it. In the bilge I installed a rule 1100 auto pump connected to the same hose as there is only a small opening from the motor compartment into the bilge. I managed with much difficulty to use 1-1/8 " hose up to the manual pump then adaped it to 1-1/4" on the pump. Hope this helps. Doug
