Slips here on the Chesapeake are high. I keep my boat at a good friend's private property, a dock NO electricity, NO water, NO restrooms, just a nice place to park and a VERY good location for protection weather wise. It is the nicest place I have kept my boat including some fancy marinas. I pay $1800 a year, in 2 installments. Also, it is VERY close to sailing area, I often motor 2 hundred yards and raise sails and kill the motor. And perhaps the best part is I have a friend who lives a couple hundred yards away and he will go over and check lines etc for storms etc. (I loan him an expensive lens that I only use occasionally for his bird photography). I also use the property for family picnics and cookouts too (of course I let the owner know).
