OK, your job as a potential horse owner is to learn as much as you can before buying or taking lessons. You've already started, so you get a gold star! If we liken this to purchasing an automobile, many people will buy for the look of the car or the color, without doing any research on size of engine, type of fuel necessary, suitability for potential use, reliability ratio, repair record, comparisons in price and / or dependability, etc. We need to do that with horse purchases, and chosing a trainer or riding instructor. To be able to do it well, we need to *know* things. We need to know how / on what to base our opinions. We need to become educated consumers, which will help us make good informed decisions.
