Kim, my stonewall had strange episodes with hard breathing and just
laying down in the trail, i thought he was dying of heat stroke.
Rushed him straight to the vet and they did bloodwork. If they do
bloodwork in the actual episode it tells them so much about oxygen
levels etc. Turns out he was SEVERELY anemic from a wormload! I worm
all my horses every two months! But I had brought in a new horse and
it had a worm i didnt have yet, worms that arent killed will explode
in the gut with overpopulation sometimes. Since you just got nanna
recently, right? She could have been exposed to a worm at your place
she had never had before and no protection against. The cure was
simple, worming every two weeks I think, different wormers, while
giving iron supplement. Equisyl is best but expensive, I gave Finish
Line iron supplement, way cheaper and it worked fine! None of my
other horses had this problem!
Janice--
even good horses have bad days sometimes.
