Alooooha Kim!
Nice to hear from you too, I wish it were for something happy. . .!
Loose sea salt is available from any gourmet or health food store,
cheapest in one with a bulk bin section. Country Supply or Jeffers
will have a horse electrolyte powder that can go on feed or in water.
(800-533-3377). I would put it on a cup of damp alfalfa pellets, or
make her a cup of yummy oatmeal, perhaps? Jeffers also has a
product called Daily 72 that is a liquid mineral, you could pour it
on dampened hay. I am especially thinking it is worth a try if she
doesn't lick the blocks. In people who don't get enough salt,
sometimes they will lose the taste/craving for it and will have to
have a little 'push' or supplement to get back on track. Like with
spinach, I guess! Maybe this is true for horses? Also, one more
thought, I think I have seen a nutritional supplement specific for
azoturia in Valley Vet that may help. . .? Something to ask the vet
about, anyway. Hope this helps! Keep us updated, ok?
Sending you warm wishes from 'paradise'!

Sally
