gosh anna I thought of you yesterday. It was on the news a 58 year
old woman was arrested on over 30 counts of animal abuse and she had
all these registered yorkies locked in a mobile home and she would
just go now and then and feed them. They looked like hairless rats,
so eaten up by fleas and laying in their own filth. They were taken
to the humane society and will be up for adoption "after they are
brought into healthy condition". Several were dead. Also some
parrots. What is it with pet hoarders... its like I have it too to a
tiny degree. I have too many dogs, parrots, geese, chickens, horses,
but i feed and care for them before i do for myself! Is it that life
circumstances, whatever, makes it where it all goes haywire and then
they cant take care of them all and try to hide it?? Did she think
she was gonna get a grip someday?? Was she turning her head til they
all died?? There was a recent case where a very elderly couple had
like 800 chihuahuas in their double wide mobile home... they were fed
and fairly well tended. But it was sad when they said they did it
because they felt no one else would ever love them and take care of
them the way they did... which is how I feel! Its the reason I cant
let go of things! They said on the news that is a symptom of hoarding
mentality, which has me worried. I aint getting anymore animals tho
and I am giving away every goose but two and I am out of the egg
incubating business and taking on no more dogs, cats or horses. i am
getting old, i could go completely off my rocker at any minute I
guess! its scarey!
