Could you provide the syntax in question, and to avoid confusion, the name of the file that needs this modification?
Thanks. ________________________________ From: Wolfgang [w...@gmx.net] Sent: Sunday, May 27, 2012 6:09 PM To: icinga-users@lists.sourceforge.net Subject: Re: [icinga-users] no data present with icinga-web interface Am 27.05.2012 23:50, schrieb Kaplan, Andrew H.: Hello -- The documentation that I am following is the 1.7 release on the docs.icinga.org website. When I go through the steps listed, I first complete the installation of the classic interface. I then click on the Install Icinga Web Interface link, and then I am taken to the page in question. ________________________________________ From: Wolfgang [w...@gmx.net<mailto:w...@gmx.net>] Sent: Sunday, May 27, 2012 5:31 To: icinga-users@lists.sourceforge.net<mailto:icinga-users@lists.sourceforge.net> Subject: Re: [icinga-users] no data present with icinga-web interface Am 27.05.2012 23:23, schrieb Kaplan, Andrew H.: The URL that I am referring to is the following: http://docs.icinga.org/1.6/en/quickstart-idoutils.html The section in question is Enable the idomod event broker module ________________________________ From: Wolfgang [w...@gmx.net<mailto:w...@gmx.net>] Sent: Sunday, May 27, 2012 4:53 PM To: icinga-users@lists.sourceforge.net<mailto:icinga-users@lists.sourceforge.net> Subject: Re: [icinga-users] no data present with icinga-web interface Am 27.05.2012 22:27, schrieb Kaplan, Andrew H.: I next checked the icinga.cfg file, and I inserted the following text at the end of the file: define module{ module_name ido_mod path /usr/local/icinga/bin/idomod.o module_type neb args config_file=/usr/local/icinga/etc/idomod.cfg } Where in the 1.7 documentation does it say to do this??? Is there any reason why you are using a documentation not fitting the version you are using? I doubt that following the links of the 1.7 documentation leads to 1.6 out of a sudden. Looking at the section "Enable the idomod ...." it reads: Under normal circumstances the following module definition is already present in the modules subdirectory so there is no need to edit the main config file define module{ module_name ido_mod path /usr/local/icinga/lib/idomod.so module_type neb args config_file=/usr/local/icinga/etc/idomod.cfg } As you can see this is an object definition so it is definitely not a part of the main config file. The only other method might be using a broker_module entry in the main config file. The information in this e-mail is intended only for the person to whom it is addressed.
