I'm still puzzled because you wrote that the ido2db daemon is running. 
All ido*cfg-sample files are copied at the same time and I wouldn't know 
why only idoutils.cfg-sample should be omitted.
Change to the source tree (where you entered "./configure ...") and 
execute "make install-idoutils". Verify that idoutils.cfg-sample is in 
/usr/local/icinga/etc/modules, rename it to idoutils.cfg and verify your 
configuration.
