i have 80 gb hdd.i have 20 gb for c: drive and 20gb for d: drive.i
have allocated 20 gb for linux partition.and the remaining 20 gb was
unallocated. i had installed ubuntoo (linux) on that linux partition.
I have also installed grub loader.Disk management on windows XP
display parittion data as follows:
1. 20gb c: drive healthy(primary) partition.
2. 20 gb d: drive healthy parttion.
3.and three partiton corresponding to linux partition : helathy and
unknown partitions. i dont remember whether that was primary or not.
The total size of those three partitions were being shown as 20 GB.
4. 20 gb unallocated space.

I was sure that this unallocated space was not being used by "linux" ,
so I decided to allocate it through "windows disk management". so,
when i tried to allocate that unallocated partiton using windows disk
management and assigned drive letter E: for that partition.but after
allocating that partition, disk manangement showed disk partition as
follws:

1. 20gb c: drive healthy(primary) partition.
2. 20 gb d: drive healthy parttion.
3.20 gb free space corresponding to the linux partition.previously it
was being shown as "healthy" and "unknown".
4. 20gb healthy (primary)

i got afrraid when i saw that partition correspondsing to linux is
being shown as "free space" in "disk management". So,then i restarted
my computer and i got Error:

Grub loading error 22.and then it hangs.

To solve this ,i used windowsxp recovery console and used fixmbr to
fix this problen.now,MY WINDOWS system is working well but i am not
able to run my linux operating systems. It seems that because I used
"fixmbr" so, I can not run the linux. Is there any way I can recover
my linux operating system. Also, if it is not possible to run the
linux on that partition as it is please let me know if I can recover
data from that linux partition. I have lots of useful data in my linux
partition. I have tried various softwares like ext3fsd, explore2fs etc
to try if thy are are able to read this partition but none of the
software is showing this partition as "linux partition". I also tried
"partition magic 8.0", but it always exited after showing an error.

Init failed error 117
partitions drive letter can not be identified.

plzzz help me out...in getting the data on that partition back.
