Yes! Now it is clear!

And let me tell you that this problem is most probably due to driver issues
in the <Os that is not to be named>.

I do not know the solution to this one, BUT I had a somewhat related problem
with my Dell Inspiron 1564 too.

here is a short description of the problem I was facing!

1) I noticed that my F2 key was toggling wifi in Ubuntu 10.04 but the
bluetooth did not turn ON!

2) No matter what I tried, or what bluetooth software I used in Ubuntu the
bluetooth will not work at all in Ubuntu, though the wifi was toggling
properly with the F2 key!

3) After searching for a solution for long, I noticed that I had disabled
bluetooth through Windows 7 Dell bluetooth driver to conserve battery life,
and no matter what Ubuntu did, it could not re-enable the bluetooth back!

which effectively means that Evil Windows Bluetooth Driver had locked away
my bluetooth hardware chip!!!
and Ubuntu or other linux distro could do nothing about that!

so the only solution I had was to log back in Windows( ugh! ) and re-enable
my bluetooth!, and then it was toggling properly in Ubuntu!

Now I had windows in my latop then, but what of some guy who disables the
bluetooth in windows and then gets rid of windows to switch to linux, only
to find that his bluetooth is useless now! and then that newbie might tell
his friend that Linux sucks!! What a shame!!!

Hope this experience of mine helps someone!
