I was going to suggest similar. Step 0. When the wifi is on, run iwliist wlan0 scan Step 1. Disable wifi (F2), wait for 15 seconds, run iwlist wlan0 scan . Step 2. Enable wifi (F2), wait for 30 seconds, run iwlist wlan0 scan . What is the output in Step 2? This will help us identify if the problem is really with the driver or with dhcpd (or something similar).
