hi gajendra
I accidently removed firefox once. Now since the distro is not supported i
am not able to install firefox again. i tried installing opera too; even
with the firefox, there are dependencies issues. so i guess i have to go in
for newer versions.

The thing is that live CD of 10.04 hangs in live mode as well as during
installation. My computer just refuses to recognize 11.04/11.10 (i have
tried desktop version.. i am yet to try alternate CD) and shows blank
screen when i boot from live CDs of 11.04/11.10.

I have also tried installing debian through USB.. it says boot error. I
also tried
10.04 minimal CD through USB- it again says boot error.
I'll burn a CD and again try installation.

It seems that the computer does not have problems with old distros, I tried
with an old CD of ubuntu ue 2.0. it worked fine in live mode.

Pl give some clues..I need to have linux on this machine.

Thanks
amal
