I too had the same problem, and apparently have no solution.I had a Pentium D 512MB RAM system that had 9.10 installed and it wouldnt support any other distro after 10.10.
After some case study i found that* It is not the RAM or number of cores that decides the compatiability of ubuntu,*it is the clock speed.I found that there are two series of pentium d processors, one with a clock speed of 2.xx GHz and other one,my config of 3.00GHz.*The processor with speed 2.xxghz doesnt support any distro after 9.10.*The most interesting fact is that one of my friends had a [email protected] running ubuntu 11.04 :),which confirmed my findings.. So a total hardware upgrade(full computer) may be the only solution. On Wed, Jan 18, 2012 at 8:26 PM, Amal Gajbhiye <[email protected]>wrote: > hi gajendra > I accidently removed firefox once.
