I also agree that HP laptops normally work well, I have used HP in the past always and never had any driver issues whatsoever. But HP puts the touchpad in an annoying position - and they have also decided to require one to press the Fn key to be able to use the function keys (F1-F12) which is a big problem if you are debuggin in eclipse.
