As far as infrasructural facilities are concerned SXC school or
college can do well; but the kind of welcome that e had from the SXC
Computer Centre is very alarming.

I am going to Bangalore on 27/01/2000 and returning on
01/02/2000, so that I shall be in SXC on 02/02/2000. I shall speak to
the Principal then regarding the feasibility of all this. I believe he
shall be interested, if we can do something to draw the attention of
B.Sc. Honours boys. Why can we not think along the following lines~:

divide the seminar into two parts, one the ideas and the other
the practical applications; to start off with we can begin with the
ideas of FSF, its variations and then demonstrate the implementation of
such in Linux as well as state other alternatives like FreeBSD; as a
second part, can we emphasise on one of the pillars of CS (OS,
databases, algorithms, networking), first the ideas and then the
implementation. Such a seminar shall take up two days time, and can be
divided into four sessions, two sessions each day.

I would prefer schools, and that too low profile ones; colleges
are mostly filled with cobwebs...
