Hi guys,
on that note I got squake running on my linux partition but one moinor
problem is that the default mode was 320x200 and exiting from squake
screws up the display. I dunno how to reinitiialise it. I guess this is
something to do with the frame buffer stuff. I'm still not sure about
that. Someone ( shanker ?) said something about linux being unable to
switch videomodes after bootup ( unless you do a vga=??? on the lilo
prompt unless you have fbcon or something. any good pointers.
quake.x11 also orks but the same problem. I get a window divided in half
with the left side a squashed and strangely green quake and the right
side totaly blank - looks like some sort of resolution problem. I need
to look into this more. But right now I am busy will a lot of other
stuff ( i'm getting married in feb as shourya already knows :) )
Cool graphics probably means gimp or xscreensaver ? how about povray ?
anyone doing anything with povray on linux ? pov would probably be a
great demo for parallel machines also. what say shourya shanker etc ?
also ggi-dom could be a nice thing to show off if/when I get the damn
thing working...I still need to understand where ggi and fbcon sit
together. glquake seems to need glide. which means 3dfx only :( .I shall
have to check on that.Inputs anyone ?
