I think Robin's idea is very good. People face problems with Linux, especially when
they are new to it.
We could volunteer to help them out, by mail if that is sufficient, or in
person, if it's in or near cal. I myself often get requests for assistance in
installing Linux. Recently there was a problem with the i810 motherboard in a
friend's house, and i'm still trying to work that out. Do we have any provision
for letting people (those not belonging to the list) contact us with specific
Linux problems? Maybe there should be a link on the homepage for this kind of
assistance.
