The image at the top of: http://www.fsf.org/philosophy/categories.html is one of the best I have seen to try to explain this. The GNU General Public License is one license which happens to be both an Open Source license and a Free Software license. Open Source is not a single license, but a class of licenses which offer specific features. BTW: I think it would be interesting to see a LUG that embraced a full range of Open Source/Free Software tools, including other kernels such as the variety of BSD kernels and the new HURD kernel (once it is usable ;-) --- Russell McOrmond, Internet Consultant: <http://www.flora.ca/> See http://weblog.flora.ca/ for announcements, activities, and opinions Submission to Innovation Strategy | No2Violence in Politics http://www.flora.ca/innovation-2002.shtml | http://www.no-dot.ca/ -- To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the body "unsubscribe ilug-cal" and an empty subject line.
