cableMbps on copper is still far away for Indian conditions. Infact, I forsee that the cable TV providers will offer better solutions very soon, astv loops are smaller and better maintained, and some cable providers are already working in this direction.
cable tv loops are co-axial .. will that be the way cable tv providers will
provide conectivity ?
Two important things -
1. Internet is two network i.e. Upstream and Downstream.
2. Cable TV networks are one way i.e. broadcast only.
Now ask me, was I trying to bluff ?
speeds ?
If I will say, many will just refuse to believe.
Any cable TV guy here ?
Can someone tell us the speed (bandwidth) one channel - digital channel from cable tv headend to customer provides ?
Ok, I will ask a little differently, we watch CDs on private channels on cable tv ? Yes.
What is the MPEG format (CD format) for such movie CDs ? How many kilobits per sec for playback ?
Let us work on approximations. Someone from Computer Science should answer.
I am not posting teasers, all I am trying to do is post queries. The resulting answers (even on approximations) will be surprising to all.
So please do honestly try to answer based on some reasonable analysis even with lot of approximations.
with Regards, ASHWIN
