You could do that. But all the files may not be in the same directory. For instance, when the sources.list points to http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ testing main the files may be found in any of the directories in http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/ and the library files are distributed in several directories depending on the name of the library. So you will have to locate the files first. And then you can download them using wget. I suppose you want to do this because you want to download from another machine. Best -- V.
