Definitions of Router fits the DSL modem provided by BSNL to a good extend
because it even works as a wireless hub and ethernet switch as well as a
modem. Check roter definition here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Router. But
for some cases the Net working engineers refer router as a thing which has a
static ip of it's own which can route the traffic of its own but the bsnl
modem is incapable of any job like this i'm not 100% sure about this . The
BSNL modem has a static ip 192.168.1.1 which is not changable but can be
configured as per our usage using user name admin and password admin .
It works some what like a switch + dsl modem than a router i feel.
