Good idea!

However she really seems to like 8.1. She finds the newer OS's to be just
too complicated. And indeed heaven for her would be (if it was possible)
running 7.1 on her iMac. There were an awful lot of people who were
originally drawn to the Mac for it's simplicity and she is one of them. So
to go to a more complicated OS goes against the reason for having a Mac in
the first place.

Another consideration is that the USB flakiness I hear about is a problem
created by Apple. Why should she have to pay to fix Apple's engineering
mistakes?

By rights they should just give her the update.
