Thanks Jeremy for your research. Much appreciated. Yes it's true that iMac Update 1.1 includes the improvements from version 1.0 but unfortunately it will only install on OS 8.5.
There is a cautionary note here regarding version 1.0 and that is it must only be installed on OS 8.1.
