I'll tell you why *I* bought Apple Care for my new G4. The latches snapped off my old one (old: dual 500 from last year) and I'm shafted. At least when this monster blows up, they'll have to fix it. I share your dissatisfaction with the phone support. It's mostly just OSX, though. They've actually made Macs just as hard to deal with as Windows machines, and they're *proud* of it! Where are my files? Indeed. For many years I gave Apple hundreds of free plugs on my radio show--over a half million listeners a week--and yet when I had a complaint over a rebate snafu, I was blown off. There's a new Apple in operation nowadays.
