I work in the teleservices industry as an "auditor." Basically, my job involves call quality control, listening to tapes of calls, looking for mistakes, and making sure the representatives that made them are aware of them so they can avoid making the same mistakes in the future. I also report on any really serious problems that would require a reprimand. The gentleman above would most definitely have gotten a reprimand if he worked where I work... The above is just unprofessionalism, plain and simple. Hard to believe Apple would train their teleservices reps so poorly... :( > Like he said, some of the applecare folks don't have a clue how to help > because the friggin' system is too complicated!! I've found Mac OS X to be just as easy to use as the Classic Mac OS, and rock stable to boot. Don't forget, there's no need to EVER go into the UNIX shell unless you want to. Probably 99.9% of problems can be solved at the GUI level, and problems on Mac OS X, I've found, are very rare in the first place. > Hell I can't even control how my desktop looks as well as i could with > 8.5 or any > crummy pc. Well, OK. I'll give you that one. Mac OS X has less flexibility when it comes to the "look" of the desktop. But that is, by definition, only a cosmetic problem. Personally, I like the look of Aqua, so controlling the lok of my desktop isn't as important to me as it might be for some. > I ACTUALLY BELIEVED THAT MY NEW IMAC WOULD BE INTUITIVE!!! As far as I can see, it is. Indeed, I find Mac OS X to be more intuitive than the Classic Mac OS ever was. You have a right to your opinion, but I do disagree. > imac flat panel 700 combo 10.1.4 Just curious: why haven't you upgraded to 10.1.5 yet? It's a pretty painless upgrade. John A.
