for those who wonder what i don't like about OSX and current Apple, Paul says it all (or most) for me below. if microsoft was pulling the kind of crap Paul and I and Sarah and others (all over the net) are pulling, all of you would righteously (and rightfully) be ripping them apart and glorifying in the spilled blood.
one applecare dude me, after i complained about one thing or another: "what do you expect from a low-end product." another told me, when asked if I could talk to someone else above him, said, "nope." when asked if I could talk to someone else who could help me he said, "nope." BTW, i serve people every day, and am not mean to people who are trying to help me, even if they struggle in doing so. Paul, below, sounds like an apple lover to me, not an apple hater (or corporation hater, which i was earlier accused of) and he's righteously and rightfully pissed at how he's been treated. I bot my imac flat panel from an inst. of "higher learning" and when i was having problems Apple acted as though i was some kind of alien pest unworthy of their attention. I bot a mac for the same reason i drive a vw camper and not a ford conversion van: i'm maybe a little bit "different" from the crowd. Not to speak for paul, but I think that we are both trying to say that Apple is becoming JUST what we hated in microsoft: arrogant and probably stupid. And not very Different, as stated below by paul. Like he said, some of the applecare folks don't have a clue how to help because the friggin' system is too complicated!! I ain't never heard any of the "switchers" from PC to Mac say they switched because they can do UNIX on the new macs. What I hear the ads (and all other ads from Mac) talking about is How Easy mac is. easy easy easy. Hell I can't even control how my desktop looks as well as i could with 8.5 or any crummy pc. May not matter to you all or to apple cuz i'm the one who has to look at my screen everyday and not you or apple and some of you just whip up a few UNIX command and apple doesn't care, but i do care. Folks, there's still a difference between propaganda and the truth, but we have all been propagandized for so long (24/7, now) that we can't even see it any more (I most assuredly include myself in this). My wife, a very intelligent person, tends to buy things that LOOK green; you know earth color packaging, certain labeling techniques, etc., etc. I ACTUALLY BELIEVED THAT MY NEW IMAC WOULD BE INTUITIVE!!! Sorry, for the shouting, but thats for the folks who tell me all I have to do is find a third party app or do a little UNIX and all will be well. Hello?? Is there anything confusing about what Paul and i and others are saying?? You don't have to agree with us but please don't act like we're not able to articulate why we are unhapppy. Apple should be ashamed of how they treat SOME of their customers. But, you know what, I don't think they are cuz they hope the "cult" will keep'm going awhile longer. If they don't clean up their act, that's all that'll keep'm going. dale (good-bye short-lived white flag) g imac flat panel 700 combo 10.1.4 --- Paul Christy <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I'll tell you why *I* bought Apple Care for my new G4.
