You are going to get mixed responses to your question. I have two
iMacs. I had Applecare on the first and it saved me hundreds of dollars
in repair and labour costs - well above the cost of the $149.00 (cdn)
it cost me to buy the Applecare plan. My new iMac is still under the 1
year warranty but I fully intend to buy Applecare for it towards the end
of the year.

Besides giving peace of mind, it can also be a great selling feature and
I have enjoyed the phone support when I had kernel panics etc. It
normally takes only one major repair (plus labour costs) to quickly
exceed the initial cost of the plan.

Although it would certainly be tempting to buy Jaguar instead - I would
definitely opt for Applecare but I guess the final decision will be
yours. Good luck with it !

Amber
