Well, just yesterday I got back my Flower Power iMac from the shop.  The
internal CDRW had been destroyed by one of my kids.  It was replaced at no
charge, as the original owner had gotten the 3 year AppleCare package.  I
don't know what the out-of-pocket expenses would have been, but as others
have said, the "peace of mind" is priceless.
