Which brings up the question: Can the hard disk in an iPod be replaced with another one (after the warranty has expired, of course!) > > >Recently zip disks are a lot harder to find and more expensive. > I see tons of them in Staples, Circuit City, Wal-Mart, etc. > I have seen >people disappointed when they used an Iomega zip as a backup and were >not able to restore/retrieve from zips -- pissed may be a better >adjective. Maybe thats why Apple's Backup application doesn't utilize >those as backup media (atleast the 250 isn't). It may have had something to do with the back-up software used. I use DiskFit Pro because it backs up in Finder format. I have no reason to lug my back-ups around. Another drawback to using the iPod, is that eventually, you are going to have to decide which is more important: your music or your back-ups >Plus you can carry it with you and listen to music, store your >addresses, keep track of your calendar events, store work in it when >working at home, etc. But still I would prefer to backup stuff I want >to keep to CD/DVD media.
