What happens is when I click the checkmark icon on my toolbar to get spellchecking,I get the HD dialog box, showing everything I have on the Mac HD, with select, open, save options, etc. Right above the place to show a dialog box selection is another strip stating: "Select Dictionary Type" and a pull down menu option revealing: Main Dictionary; Hyphenation Dictionary and Thesaurus. But this dictionary selection menu doesn't seem to be tied into the dialog box process because if I do choose one of the three, it's not reflected in the dialog box as a choice.
I also tried using edit-->writing tools-->Check Document Spelling - but this process took me right back to the HD dialog box. The other option under writing tools, --> Check Selection Spelling, is grayed out - why, I don't know. It occurs to me that the only way out of this is to reinstall Appleworks 5, but the problem is it happens to be on my OS 9.0 disk. It is not included on the OS 9.21 disk, which I installed with OS X. Is this do-able? Thanks for any help you can give. Zippy -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
