I once had trouble with frequent disconnects. I have a external modem. There were times, when on line, that i thought i could hear small unintelligible voices in the modem. I would put my ear to the modem but could not make any sense. I connected a phone so as to be listening while on line. Sometimes it was english, sometimes spanish. Anyhow it turned out to be a PacBell advertisement for Repeat Dialing. Of course i had them block it. jr
