I believe you...sort of...if for no other reason than I see no reason 
for you to lie about it, but I have thought this to be an urban legend 
for about 4 years. I spilled a beer (Labatt's Blue)  on an iMac 
keyboard (Rev. B) and found the same instructions back then. Despite 
following them carefully, the board was never the same. To this day 
(and the carcass still resides somewhere in my garage) certain keys 
just didn't work.

Of course, after spilling coffee, or whatever, on a re;atively cheap 
keyboard, you have little to lose by trying it.
