this may not work for everyone, but it sure did for me. I removed the
top of the keyboard. I left the thin plastic sandwich panels which
make the electrical connection when you depress a key.
The keys were all retained in their holes on the top section (outer
frame and key layout) of the keyboard, so I didn't have to worry
about remembering which one went into which hole.
So I had the plastic parts with no electrial connections. I put it in
our dishwasher at home and it came out sparking clean.
You may want to take a moist cloth and wipe off the sandwiched
plastic key pad but you should be very carefull not to get water in
between or it will give you erratic, spastic short circutis. A hair
dryer ought to take care of it if you do get a little moisture inside
the sandwich. I opened up the sandwich and used canned air to clean
out dust, etc., as well as the keyboard base.
Good luck. Your mileage may vary.
