It is sound and rooted in elementary school math. It's not hard to figure out. I recently had a client that had a G4/400 that blew the board and front panel. It was out of warranty. A new board was several hundred dollars (with my connections...more without) and the panel was expensive as well. He decided it would be more economical to look for a new machine. It's simple math.
