Unfortunately, not. People buy MS Office because other people send them doc or xls files as attachments, and insist that you send them back as such. You can argue till you're blue in the face that all you need or want is plain text in email, but they switch off their brains, wait till you stop, then say they don't know how to do it any other way (and imply they don't want to, or understand why it might be a problem). Only raising the problem of macro viruses can sometimes get a flicker of interest, but otherwise that's just a reason to spend more on a virus scanner.
