I prefer WordPerfect myself, but mainly because that was what was in use at work on my Pee Cee and my little SE 30 (I had both on my desk - the only Mac in the whole building!), so I could swap files with my co-workers. I simply stuck with it on my home machine as well. I find it a bit easier to use than Word, but, at least for me, there really is no significant difference - they both work well, and share the same basic features. WordPerfect does have one significant advantage, of course, it's free since Corel discontinued support and development of the Mac version. The disadvantage is there's no OS X version, but since I rarely ever use a word processor any more, it doesn't bother me that I have to start Classic to use it. I've used most of the different incarnations of AppleWorks, from MacWrite to ClarisWorks and beyond, but I was not particularly impressed with it.
