I need one that can mix up to 25 tracks of regular audio at one time, and SoundEdit16 can do it. Sound Studio only has a "paste over" feature for mixing, last time I used it. It's ok if you're only recording from another source, such as a turntable or tape. The closest thing to it in OS X is Audacity, which has some nice features, but it's still extremely buggy - crashes constantly. SoundEdit16 has never crashed once on me, but it's features are rather limited, but I manage to find a work-around to replace the missing feature, such as panning. Other programs like Bias Deck are just too damned complicated. The combination of Spark XL for processing sound and SoundEdit16 for editing and mixing gets the job done. It would be nice if someone would combine the two! Gerry -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
