My iMac DV 400 SE has been used in conjunction with a Digidesign Mbox usb audio interface, Protools Le software and Logic Audio Platinum, to record and mix an entire CD ...all under OS 9.2.2....
the system usage meter in both applications ALWAYS maxes out first with CPU overload, rather then disk i/o overload, which would imply that you could get by with the stock systems hard drive to record audio... the only reason for this post was to get some feedback on whether or not OS X would run sluggishly on this machine, and whether it would have have any performance advantage over 9.2.2 for what I'm trying to do..... -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
