Possibly it's some minor glitch? But from the description it sounds 
like the video is kaput. :( If it is a 'sudden' failure it's probably 
not the picture tube, but it could be a lot of other things. (video 
board, flyback transformer, etc.) You really need an AASP to 
troubleshoot it and tell you a repair costs so you can decide if it's 
fixable, or it's time for the new iMac?
