Hi Alicia, One other thing came to mind. You did not mention what model the older Apple monitor was. If it is an AppleVision, ColorSync, or Multiple Scan, your video board is probably toast. If, however, it is an older performa or an "M" series, or one of many, many others, your iMac may not support the resolution. Many older Apple monitors are a "fixed" resolution of 640 x 480 or even lower. A rev B iMac can support 640 x 480 in most cases, but if your monitor is 14" or less, it probably cannot.
