A friend of mine thinks he ruined his parents grape iMac 266. He was upgrading the OS from 8.6 to 9.1. He ran the firmware updater first. Upon rebooting with the special key combination to update the firmware, the progress bar went about 10% before stopping completely. He gave it a half hour before rebooting. Now it gives him the blinking disk every time he boots it.
Needless to say, he feels horrible for telling them he was going to make their computer work better and now it doesn't work at all. Has anybody here ever brought an iMac back from firmware hell? -Mick -- Sigs with a message suck! -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
