Thanks, Kyle, for the heads-up on Maxtor. I was trying to decide between Maxtor and WD (although I have a ham friend who swears by WD, although it was 5 years ago we were discussing it). Two other questions, not directly related to the original post, but new HD related:
1. Can I *safely* use a 7200 RPM HD in an iMac DV? I don't want the extra head from the 7200 RPM HD to overheat the fanless iMac. (coincidentally, most reports at xlr8yourmac.com indicate that there have been no heat issues with 7200 RPM) 2. What is the best way to transfer all my files to the new HD?
