Actually, yes, I have a small speaker right nex to the iMac, however, when I move the computer away from the speaker the problem does go away a little, but not much. I've even booted the computer up on my lap, away from other electronic equipment, and the discloration still is there.
[EMAIL PROTECTED] answered my emailing problem. It's AOL, so I'll just have to keep emailing via my alternate means or all my messages will get bounced back to me.

I think as long as it makes a difference when you move the computer, then you have found the problem. For long term use it may take a few days (maybe longer?) for it to disappear. My son thought it would be neat to put magnets on my screen several years ago...made WONDERFUL patterns that wouldn't go away! Scared BOTH of us but when I turned the computer off for several hours and turned it back on it was normal. May just take more time to recover.
