I don't know who does one for the Mac (no-one anymore i suspect) but yes hardware PCI modems do exist and they are pretty expensive. I still stick to externals - they cost lots but they outlast their internal counterparts by many times. A Hayes compatible external Serial 56k Modem and a Keyspan USB/Serial adapter might see you right, but again at a premium.
But that's ok because its hooked up to my router D-Link DI-713P wich handles it and all
my computer's on the Lan. can get online tru it. Of course I only use this when my DSL
goes down, not too often thankfully.
