I see you have a cox.net email address, just like me!  Anyway, for the big
bucks you pay Cox every month for your cable internet, you are also getting
I think 70 MB of online webspace.  Enough room for plenty of pictures.  700
pictures if you keep them to 100K each. (Any bigger than that is gonna be
painfully slow for any dial-up visitors to your page)

For making "quick and dirty" photo albums, I use a free program (for OS 8,
9, X) called "PhotoPage" by John Vink.  It automatically genereates an index
page, with small thumbnail versions of all your pictures, and lets you add
titles, descriptions, etc.  Clicking on the thumbnails lets your visitors
see the image full size.  Once they are looking at the full size image there
are forwards and back links to see the previous or next picture, and a link
back to the index page.  You can get it from download.com (the author's site
seems to be down):
