Actually I posed the "own website" question without really thinking it
through.  If I'd have to go through my own ISP to do so, what's the point?
Naively, I thought it was just a matter of designing my site, then having
my computer open to receive input 7/24 to operate as a website. Even
if that were possible, I can imagine hackers using such opportunities to zap
me whenever possible. Looks like paying a fee for a site from .mac, yahoo or
lycos, or even cox, is the logical way to go.
