Anyway, I've been trying to fax using the OS X fax program.

What am I doing wrong? What should I have tried that I didn't think of?

Hey Donna,

It's probably not you. It's probably the FaxSTF program. It stinks.

Actually it was me! See previous message re how I didn't read the instructions as carefully as I should have.

Though I have to ask, because you wouldn't believe the number of people who don't know this: you DO have a telephone line plugged into your machine, right? (People on broadband often think that they can fax this way w/o a phone line plugged in)

Yes, I had the phone line plugged inn - I have a dial up connnection. The problem was getting a fax number to show up in the address list, so I never actually got as far as needing a phone connection!!

thanks for your reply and also your list of alternatives.

Donna
